Catastrophic Injury Lawyer

Catastrophic injuries are the types of injuries that will leave a life-altering change. No matter whether you are unable to return to your previous line of work or even if you are required to have around-the-clock medical attention, a catastrophic injury is just what it sounds like – catastrophic. These types of injuries will also usually require that the victim receives extensive medical treatment to help in the healing process; this could mean that they need skin grafts because of a severe burn, or┬áthat they require surgery to help place broken bones or could even be long-term medical rehabilitation to help deal with spinal damage. And of course, many catastrophic accidents lead to a victim being paralyzed and/or bound to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

It is also important to remember that while there are many different types of injuries that can be classified as catastrophic, the one thing they all have in common is the profound impact that they will have on the life of the victim and his loved ones. One particularly memorable case our office handled a few years ago involved a hard working family man, who ran into a tree while riding his friend’s ATV full speed while being intoxicated, after being served alcohol by the ATV owner. That collision lead to a permanent brain damage, where he not only lost his ability to speak, but he needed his wife to feed him and to take care of all of his other basics. For obvious reasons, it was a challenges case to handle, but the extent of the injuries helped us successfully settle the case shortly before trial despite the serious liability due to our client’s being drunk when riding the ATV.
