Avoiding motorcycle injury accidents in San Francisco Bay Area

California and especially San Francisco Bay Area undoubtedly has more motorcyclists than any other state due to its size and mild climate.  Some of the most common motorcycle accidents is where a car turns left in front of a motorcycle at a busy intersection. This is especially likely to happen during the rush hour, at a yellow light, when the motorcyclist tries to turn left before the light changes to red and the driver who is coming toward him, in a hurry to get to work, is trying to “sneak” through the intersection as well. I personally witnessed a left-turn accident like this in San Francisco last year. Luckily, the victim’s injuries were relatively mild as he was wearing a good helmet and quality protective gear.

To avoid those kind of injury accidents in San Francisco, a motorcyclist should play it “safe” when turning left, especially during the rush hours in San Francisco when people are particularly stressed out, in a hurry to get to their destination and are more likely to try and speed up right before the light switches from yellow to green at an intersection.
